The School of Public Management and Policy at the University of Illinois Springfield invites applications for a tenure-system associate professor beginning August 16, 2025 to teach primarily in the DPA program, as well as in the Master of Public Policy program and potentially the Master of Public Administration and undergraduate public administration programs.
This is a full-time on-campus position tenure-track academic appointment. UIS tenure-system faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the university community, with assigned professional responsibilities for teaching, scholarship, and service.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching: Standard teaching load is 3/3. Potential courses include PAD651 Leading Social Sector Change and Innovation, PAD652 Public Management seminar: Connecting Practice and Theory, PAD657 Advanced Public Management Seminar, PAD656 Quantitative Research Methods, PAD526 Advanced Analytical Tools: Forecasting, Time Series Analysis, and Predictive Analytics in the Spring semester, PAD502 Organization Dynamics in either the Spring or the Fall semester.
Scholarship: Show evidence of high-quality scholarship and an active research agenda Meet scholarship expectations as described in the UIS Faculty Personnel Policy.
Service: Show evidence of high-quality professional service Meet service expectations as described in the UIS Faculty Personnel Policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in public policy, public administration, political science, or a related field.
Ability and willingness to teach doctoral and other graduate and undergraduate courses in various areas of public management and policy
Evidence of teaching excellence
Evidence of scholarship
Evidence of high-quality professional service
Experience and/or willingness to teach in an online degree program
Ability to effectively address the learning opportunities and challenges presented by doctoral and other graduate students who are diverse in terms of age, race/ethnicity, and work experience
A commitment to addressing diversity in the classroom and preparing students to address diversity in the workforce and community
Theoretical and methodological expertise necessary to guide and assist doctoral students with scholarship in appropriate fields
